You want your wedding to be personal, memorable, and totally wedding magazine worthy...

But once you start planning you realize you have to pick the perfect dress, the perfect venue, the perfect music, the perfect flowers, and, because you don't already have 1,372 other perfect things to be doing, you also have to pick the perfect invitations. They're the first way your peeps will experience your wedding and they set the tone for the whole event, after all!

Inspiration is not a problem - between Pinterest, Instagram, and ALL the wedding blogs, you've seen a million ideas that you love. You've even checked out those online build-your-own-invitation sites and found some beautiful options. But nothing gives you those warm and fuzzy feelings you've been waiting for. And, let's be honest, you don't want an invitation that just anyone could have. You want something that is truly personal and one-of-a-kind.

You know there’s got to be a better way to get your dream invitations.

That’s why you’re here. And that's exactly why I started alexandra em. lettering + design.

Hey there! I'm Alex, designer + lettering artist at alexandra em.

I founded alexandra em. lettering + design on the simple belief that everyone deserves to have the perfect invitation.

Not too long ago, I was working my day job and dreaming about my own wedding invitations, and I found myself stuck. Like a lot of other brides I talked to, I had a million questions and very few answers: How many invitations did I need? How should I word them? Do I really need an RSVP card? How do I make my invitations stand out?

Being an etiquette and stationery geek, and minus a wedding planner (other than mom!), I dove into doing the research and loved every second! Who knew there was a difference between using 'in honor of' and 'in celebration of'?! I combined what I learned with my background in lettering and design to start creating invitations not only for my own wedding, but for brides wanting something personal, beautiful, and easy.

Using hand lettering in a variety of styles, I create pieces that let your personal style shine through, resulting in truly personalized invitations that are anything but ordinary. Drawing on 10+ years of experience in design and print work, I love to use bold elements and color to put a modern, non-traditional spin on classic wedding invitation design - whether you want digital printing, letterpress, or foil.

the lady behind the pen

My name's Alex, and I run alexandra em., a lettering + design studio based in Dallas, TX.

I was born in Nebraska, grew up in Iowa, and spent a few years each in Indiana, Illinois (Chicago!), and Virginia before deciding I'd had enough cold weather and packed my bags for Dallas. Thank goodness I did, because no sooner had I finished decorating my apartment, when Mr. Right came along. We got married a year and a half later and couldn't be happier! He is my favorite human, greatest love, and best friend. And it doesn't hurt that he shares my love of sugar and dogs!

Speaking of dogs, we have two fur babies: Tess and Breega. They are sweet, sassy, and always make us smile. They spend their days snoozing around our house on all the various beds, blankets, and furniture available in our loft.

We love to travel and can usually be found planning our next getaway. Colombia is up next, and we can't wait! Our favorite place is usually anywhere with a beach, but San Miguel de Allende, Mexico has a special place in our hearts as well (it's where we spent our honeymoon!).

Most evenings, you can find me hanging out with my better half and our pups, ghost-lettering with my finger on various surfaces, and enjoying a nice glass of wine. I can't wait to get to know you better!

Love and wedding bells, Alex
